This session will feature three distinguished experts—from the perspectives of editors, jury members, and trend analysts—to reveal the future trajectory and winning strategies within design competitions.

Course Details:

  • Date: Saturday, 22 November 2025
  • Time: To be confirmed (Will be announced in subsequent notices)
  • Venue: To be confirmed (Exclusive to EAEA Club members)

Core Course Modules and Expert Exchange

The course is structured around four core modules, covering the most influential trends currently shaping international design awards:

1. Quantifying Sustainability in Design Judging:

Theme: From Concept to Practice: How Design Awards Evaluate a Project’s “Environmental and Social Impact.”

Focus: Exploring the adjusted judging criteria and scoring models adopted by top global awards (e.g., iF, Red Dot, IDA) regarding sustainability, circular economy, and socially responsible design. We will discuss how to avoid “greenwashing” and ensure genuine sustainable value in submissions.

2. The Challenge of Digitalization and AI-Assisted Design:

Theme: Copyright and Creative Boundaries in the Age of AI: Editorial Review Principles for Generative AI Works.

Focus: Discussing the impact of AI tools (like Midjourney, ChatGPT) on the design process and how major awards define the role of AI in submissions. Examination of intellectual property, designer originality, and the required limitations for “final submitted works.”

3. Cross-Disciplinary Design and Experiential Narrative:

Theme: Breaking Traditional Categories: How Emerging Awards Define Service Design, User Experience (UX), and Immersive Architecture.

Focus: Analyzing the current trend of convergence—from product to experience, and architecture to service. For instance, how to successfully submit service blueprints, brand narratives, or virtual interactions as core design elements, and how juries evaluate these intangible assets.

4. The Rise of Regional Awards and Cultural Localization:

Theme: Local Voices in Globalization: The Impact of Emerging Design Hubs like Asia and the Middle East on International Design Awards.

Focus: Exploring the expansion of design awards into different global regions, and how local culture, materials, and traditional craftsmanship are regaining news value and global influence. Providing strategic insights for members looking to expand their reach overseas.

This course is an essential opportunity for you to master the frontier trends of design awards and enhance your projects’ global competitiveness.

We look forward to your attendance and a deep exchange with our three experts!
